Wanda Wen is the Founder, CEO and creative force behind Soolip, a Los Angeles paper and lifestyle boutique that is a favorite among Los Angeles’ tastemakers, Hollywood celebrities and corporate clients alike. Wanda has successfully combined her life-long passions for the paper arts and nature along with her background in fashion launching the unique brand Soolip, having multiple extensions and satellite businesses in the invitation, gift wrap, lifestyle and wedding industries. Her approach to life is to live each day with beauty and inspiration, being resourceful, respecting each other and our earth, and learning to see the beauty in simplicity.
Wanda is an active, inspirational speaker on topics ranging from paper-related subjects, weddings, journaling, and entrepreneurship, and is an expert gift wrapper and media spokesperson for Scotch Brand. She and Soolip have been featured in numerous publications, including Martha Stewart Weddings, Real Simple, Vogue, Town & Country, Elegant Bride, In Style, Travel + Leisure, People, The New York Times, Los Angeles Magazine, and Wall Street Journal. Wanda has also appeared on Today, HGTV, the Style Network, E!, and Fine Living Channel. Look out for her first book, The Art of Gift Wrapping, a PotterCraft/Random House publication, due out April 2010.
Wanda resides in Los Angeles, and is a mother of 3 children, ages 14, 11 and 7. Her kids are enrolled in a Waldorf school in Southern California, where she appreciates the strong sense of community and is drawn to Waldorf education instilling a sense of warmth and compassion for each other, rather than encouraging an environment of competition characterized by most traditional schools.
The name Soolip has its heritage in the Chinese language, meaning “One’s life destiny is to seek wisdom.” Soolip is also Wanda’s middle name.
