The Dream Vacation
Sprinkle cooking oilover your pan
until it sizzles like sunlight
sizzling a tropical shore.
Let each hiss and pop
be a colorful beat

Add honey and peanuts
& inhale
tan smells rising into steam
like heat wavering
on baked ivory
baking soda sands.
Mix in chopped red pepper
yellow squash, green zucchini
jewel-colored fish flitting
through the shallows
of your broth.
Dropped in the pan,
tofu squares transform
from white & pudgy
to golden, firm.
Massage the browning sauce
with the gentle,
insistent kneading
of a spatula.
Season with salt.
Serve in fiesta ware
atop white rice.
Add a drink umbrella.
For dessert:
slice strawberries
& pineapple.
Devour gold &
crimson slivers
the sunset shades
of indulgence.
