Elaine Stillerman, LMT, www.MotherMassage.Net has been a licensed massage therapist in New York since 1978. She began her pioneering massage therapy work with pregnant and postpartum women in 1980. She is the author of MotherMassage: A Handbook For Relieving the Discomforts of Pregnancy (Bantam, 1992) which has been translated into several languages and The Encyclopedia of Bodywork (Facts On File, 1996) as well as numerous magazine and e-magazine articles about prenatal massage therapy.

Elaine is the developer and instructor of the professional certification training "MotherMassage: Massage During Pregnancy", which she has been teaching since 1990 at massage schools, spas and resorts across the country. This course provides 24 continuing education credits to massage therapists, childbirth educators, midwives and doulas. Elaine has also developed a home study program.

Elaine has presented her work at several national and international health fairs, including the Anatriptic Arts Fair, San Francisco, CA and the International Symposium on the Science of Touch, Montreal, Canada. She is a contributing writer to Skinship Journal and has appeared on many radio and television shows, including Live! With Regis and Kelly, promoting the values of prenatal and postpartum massage therapy.
