Jan Hunt, M.Sc., is a parenting counselor, author, and the director of the Natural Child Project. She is an advisor to Attachment Parenting International, Child Friendly Initiative, and Northwest Attachment Parenting.
Jan is the author of The Natural Child: Parenting From the Heart [1] and the children's book A Gift for Baby [2]. She and her son Jason have co-edited and published The Unschooling Unmanual [3]. Jason unschooled from the beginning with a learner-directed approach. Jan and her family live in central Oregon.
The Natural Child Project [4] website has articles and advice on parenting and education that respects children. The site includes over 100 articles by Jan and other leading writers, such as Peggy O'Mara, Robin Grille, James McKenna, Marshall Rosenberg, and Alice Miller. The site also includes the Global Children's Art Gallery, the Internet's largest collection of children's art, was established by Jason in 1997. The Natural Child Project envisions "a world in which all children are treated with dignity, respect, understanding, and compassion."
