Hello Naomi, I was wondering what you think about young girls wearing a little bit of lip gloss or eyeshadow "just to dress up" like their mothers. How about nail polish - do you think these things are harmful? Thank you!
Dear parent,
It is natural for girls to want to look pretty, dress up and imitate beauty rituals of their mothers. However, it is unfortunate that what modern women’s model is toxic and focuses on glamour and on needing to cover up one’s own look. The subliminal brainwash is that we are not beautiful the way we are. Indeed, the makeup industry is riding on women’s insecurity and is very good at brainwashing women (and men) to want a look that is not natural.
Little girls will grow up into happier women when they love themselves the way nature made them. The way to protect girls from being interested in makeup, is by having mothers who don’t use them. No exposure, no interest.
Nail polish is extremely toxic to breath and makeup is toxic and penetrates through the skin. Not only it does physical harm, but also emotional. The child’s identity with such image can lead her away from loving her own beauty and feeling confident about herself. What I am saying here can be over the top for your situation. If your daughters are creating theater, or are trying it once or twice and are not deeply into it there is no problem. Yet, if the modeling continues, so will their interest.
I would love to see the next generation driving the corrupt makeup industry and its brainwash out of business. It would be better for women, men and the environment. Makeup, lotions, creams and hair concoctions are an unnecessary giant industry of plastic containers and chemicals. They pollute our planet in the making, delivery, storage, packaging and disposing. And, they harm women’s health and self-image.
Warmly, http://authenticparent.com/index.html
