Dear Naomi, I have learned from you that it is not good to send a child to kindergarten and I don't want to send my children either. However, at the moment I'm having problems with my back; it is painful and I don't know how to handle the day with two young children (5 and 2) anymore. I don't have grandparents who can help me and there is no homeschooling community in our area. What can I do? Carrie
Dear Carrie,
Obviously I cannot solve your technical problems. You sound like you are a single mom.
But is there a husband? Father of the children? Can you move to a more supportive community? Can you share a house with another adult or a family? Can you afford help? Do you have an extra room to rent out in exchange for help? I don’t know enough about your possibilities but I do know that if there is a will there is a way. If you wish to have my guidance specific to your situation, you can book yourself a phone session with me. You can find the information on my site.
As for back pain, I had my children late and could not cary them easily. They responded very well to being in my arms only when I sat down. We cuddled on the couch, played in bed, and had a good time without hurting my back.
The tone of your question is one of a helpless victim; giving your circumstances power over you. I work with mothers to transform this common attitude and become powerful forces of nature. Children learn from us how to tackle life and become who we are. It is important to pass on a sense of freedom, power and joy.
Warmly, Naomi Aldort, http://authenticparent.com
