Hairwashing is always a struggle in our house. I don’t care how big the words NO MORE TEARS are on the bottle, or how natural and organic the product, shampoo hurts when you’re little and you get it in your eyes.
Last week just 6-year-old Etani, who wants to be an inventor when he grows up (”I already am one Mommy”), came up with a solution:

Wear goggles in the bathtub.

Plus you can practice your underwater exploration (imagination required) after your hair’s all clean.

Ingenious!
Now that’s problem-solving!
We have similar issues at our house and our answer was one of those shampoo hoods from Sally Beauty Supply–fits around their faces with a plastic channel down the back for the shampoo/water to run through.
Bathing at our house used to involved massive amounts of tears and struggle (and we do hair washing once a week–not every day or anything!) and now it is fairly peaceful

i never knew swimming goggles were so useful until my guai guai (10) decided to use them when he chopped onions.
You know, I worked really hard to keep water/soap out of my kids’ eyes and now I wish I hadn’t. I have a girlfriend who didn’t overworry, and her kids were instant swimmers; no concern whatsoever about getting eyes in the water. But I still think Etani is one smart guy!
