Leone’s Hands

The baby has found her hands.

Five-pronged flying saucers that hover in front of her face.

She gets very still when they come into view, fascinated by these UFOs.

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? I'll taste it and find out...

   Leone is so cute — and I absolutely adore baby hands, those tiny fingers and nails that are impossible to properly cut!

     I’ve actually been nibbling off her fingernails lately, while she’s nursing. That works WAY better than trying to use a baby nail cutters. She likes to hold on tightly to a finger, one of my braids, or my shirt now. “She’s SO strong Mommy,” Athena says when Leone has her in a tight grip.
