3 months ago, after 32 hours of labor, Zimrah Tovah was born free in our living room. Even as I watched her come out I couldn’t believe what was happening! The Business of Being Born encouraged me to make informed decisions about my body, labor, and delivery and to choose the kind of birth that was right for us.
My husband calls me his hero.
I can’t wait to see the new episodes!!

My first child was born in a hospital, and while things went fine, I was frustrated by the constant struggle to make things happen the way I indicated I preferred, the way supported by evidence. I am now confidently planning a home birth and appreciate Rikki Lake’s efforts to normalize this.

BoBB was a huge help for me in figuring out how to voice my feelings about birth and led me to an incredible experience having my prenatal care with a midwife group for my second birth. Although I had to transfer into hospital care for my birth due to developing Cholestasis, I felt much calmer and prepared to fight for my VBAC. I’m so thankful for the increasingly mainstream attention Abby Epstein and Rikki Lake are bringing to our society’s desperate need to change the birth climate in the US!

I would really like to win so I can share all this great info to my non-supporting family in my decision for a homebirth
I purchased The Business of being Born when I found out I was pregnant about a year ago. I started lending it to friends to help educate woman on the subject. I’ve now bought 3 copies to give to mothers/mothers-to-be.
I love it, it’s a good start to opening the conversation of birth and what it’s like in America and what it COULD be like. I’m now starting the process of becoming a childbirth educator and doula. I’m looking forward to to watching More Business of being Born to see what else they have for us!
